Description:
George Hulme was born in Leeds in 1899. He was apprenticed to trainer Richard Dawson and was subsequently stable jockey there. In addition to his Classic win he was also associated with the flying filly Mumtaz Mahal in her two-year-old days, and won the Grand Prix de Paris on Galloper Light. George Hulme went to Hungary in 1929 where he rode, married and, for a short time, trained.
