Dates & jockeys of important wins:
Description:
The Triple Crown winner Bahram was never seriously extended in any of his 9 races at 2 and 3 years old. He was a handsome, powerful horse with a temperament that was so placid it was almost lethargic. He would probably have won the Ascot Gold Cup at four, but his owner H H Aga Khan III retired him to stud after the St Leger, declaring that he would never sell him. He sired the Classic winner Big Game before the Aga Khan sold him to an American syndicate, before being exported again to Argentina, but was an unsuccessful stallion in both those countries. |
