Stern, George (1882 - 1928)

Description:

George Stern was a French jockey who rode with great force and dash and who came regularly to England to ride in big races. In addition to the four Classics he won here, George Stern won the Prix du Jockey Club six times, the Grand Prix de Paris three times and the Arc de Triomphe once in his native land. At the end of World War I he was training as well as riding for the textile magnate Marcel Boussac.
