Description:

William Osborne, brother of the famous jockey/trainer John Osborne, sent out the filly Apology to win the Fillies' Triple Crown in 1874. She also won the Ascot Gold Cup. William Osborne also trained two Ebor Handicap winners in Novice and Victor Emmanuel, as well as Experiment, winner of the Park Hill Stakes. For a time, he also trained Lily Agnes. He retired in 1894.
