Description:

Marshal Field was an American millionaire who derived his fortune from inheriting real estate and his holdings in a well-known department store. It was he who introduced Captain Boyd-Rochfort, the bloodstock owner and later trainer, to the owner William Woodward.

In England and Ireland Marshal Field had three winners of the Irish Oaks, Cinq a Cept, Amethystine and Foxcroft, top two-year-olds Jacapo, Foray and Golden Corn, and the wonderful tap root mare Black Ray.
