Description:

Ronald Farquharson, a member of an old Dorset family, went to Ceylon as a young man and became a successful tea and rubber planter. He rode there and in India as an amateur and upon returning to England in 1906 set up as an owner/trainer in Wiltshire. His best winner was Mount William, winner of the Irish Derby and the Wokingham Handicap and beaten by a head in the Cambridgeshire. He also owned Gentle Shepherd.
