Description:
Desmond, a good brown/black two-year-old, fell out of love with racing at three, had ugly moods and was bad at the Start. He went to stud at a fee of under £25 but by the time of his death it had been raised to 250 guineas, for he sired the likes of Craganour (first past the post in the 1913 Derby) and Aboyeur (promoted to first in the same Classic), The White Knight (two Ascot Gold Cups) and Charles O'Malley (Ascot Gold Vase, third in the Derby). |
