Oaks
1927  Thomas Weston

Description:

The 3rd Earl of Durham's filly Beam was a long striding filly with plenty of stamina. She won 4 races at two and three years, including the Oaks in which she prevailed after a terrific struggle with Booklaw, who would go on to win the St Leger. After failing to give Adieu, a colt, 9lbs in the Queen's Vase over two miles, she was retired to stud.
