Description:
Having been the best two-year-old colt in Ireland in 1927, Athford came to England where he won the Jubilee Handicap at Kempton and the Doncaster Cup and was beaten by short heads in the Lincolnshire Handicap and Epsom's Coronation Cup. He later took up stallion duties in Japan. |
