Description:

David Barnett bought the filly Athasi at the end of her three-year-old days and sent her to be trained by James Burns in Scotland, from where she won staying handicaps at Ayr and Newcastle. She was also tried over hurdles without success, and bred two foals for David Barnett before his death in 1925. David Barnett left Athasi and her foal Athford to his brother William, who sent them to Ireland to board at the Cloghran Stud.
