Description:

King George V was not the passionate racing monarch that his father had been, but he enjoyed looking over the horses, both on his stud and in training. His sole Classic success was with Scuttle, winner of the 1000 Guineas in 1928 and runner up in the Oaks. His other good horses included Limelight (Hardwicke Stakes, Royal Ascot) , Friar Marcus (Middle Park Stakes, Newmarket) and Weathervane (Royal Hunt Cup, Royal Ascot). He also owned Beau Pere for a time.
