Description:

Tom Walls was the son of a Northampton builder, who, after a short time in the police force, took to the stage, where he acted and then managed to great effect. He loved his racing and set up in a small way in stables at Epsom. His finest hour came in 1932 when he won the Derby with April the Fifth, whom he both owned and trained.
