Description:

Bernard Bletsoe owned, bred and trained the 1901 Grand National winner Grudon (although the licence was held by J Holland). The race was run in a snowstorm, and whilst the other contestants slithered about, Grudon galloped to victory, his hooves packed with butter. He also trained Rubio, but not at the time of that horse's National win.
