Description:

Winner of 17 of his 19 races, beaten by only a head in another and out of the frame only when running in the Cambridgeshire Handicap which was too far for him, Delaunay was a cheap yearling at 80 guineas from the stud which was to breed The Tetrarch. Looking at the names of his sire and dam, it is easy to see why the colt was originally called Lucky Dog!
