Description:

William Ashe's Narraghmore Stud was named after the filly which won the Irish Derby of 1891. Her two years younger own sister, Miss Plant, bred for Mr Ashe the future Grand National winner Ambush II. Miss Plant's dam, Cecropia, had once been exchanged for a cow!

The Ashe family had been involved in Irish racing and breeding for generations, a William Aske's son, William Wilson, was a respected buyer of store yearlings who became star chasers, including Finnure, Pointsman and Average.
